Devatha Kalyanalu Day - 2

With the Divine Grace of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai, Sri Seetharama Kalyanam was performed as the first Devatha Kalyanam at Sri Sathya Sai Kalyana Mandapam, Aravinda nagar, Ananthapuramu, on 24th January 2014. It is the second day in the Devatha Kalyana Mahotsavalu spread over four days.

These Devatha Kalyanalu were performed jointly by Sri Sathya Jyothi Trust, Ananthapuramu, Sri Sathya Sai Seva Samithi, Ananthapuramu and Sri Sanathana Bhagavata Bhaktha Samajam. The Bhaktha Samajam was started in 1924 by Sri Bhagavathula Suryanarayana garu, Sri Cheruvu Somayajulu garu, Sri Mulukutla Lakshmi Narayana Sastri garu and 50 other devotees with Lord Krishna as the head of this Bhaktha Samajam. In the year 1964 Bhagawan invited this Bhaktha Samajam to Puttaparthi and watched for three days their functions. Satisfied by their service, Swamy Blessed the Samajam and admitted it as one associated with Prasanthi Nilayam. In 1989 on praying Swamy, to be the President of this Samajam, He accepted. 

On 24th January 2014, Friday from 8 AM to 9 AM Nagarotsavam was conducted, followed by Bhagawan’s entry into Mandir. Rituals conducted were Vighneswara pooja, Punyahavachanam, Kalasasthapana, Akhanda Deeparadhana, Rithvigarunamulu, Sundarakanda Parayana, Suryanamaskarams, Maha Lingarchana, Veda Parayana, Hanumath Mahamanthranushtanam and Gopooja.

Sri Seetharama Kalyana Mahotsavam commenced from 10 AM under the Pourohityam by Sri. P. Nageswara Sastry garu. The Divine Mangala Sutram was touched with reverence by the devotees. About 70 couples collectively performed the Kalyanam. Kalyanam concluded at 12.45 PM. After Maha Mangala Harathi, Wedding Feast (Maha Prasadam) was served to all.

Sri. R J Ratnakar garu, Member, Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust, Prasanthi Nilayam and Sri S G Chalam garu State President, SSSSO, Andhra Pradesh are the dignitaries who graced this Kalyanam. About 30 sevadal volunteers participated in this function.

The evening programme included Pravachanam by Sri. Jandhyala Nageswara Rao garu, Kacheri by Sri. Chebium Gowri Shankar garu, and Harikatha by Sri. Nori Narayana Murthy garu. After manthra pushpam, maha mangala harathi was given to Swamy.
