Dist level workshop at Anantapur

District level workshop on bhajans at Anantapur.

By the divine grace of Bhagawan Baba a district level workshop on bhajans was held on 13.4.14 at Sri Sathya Sai Mandir, Aravinda nagar, Anantapur.

The workshop started at 10 AM with Swamy’s bhajans and lighting of the jyothi. At the start of the workshop Dr. R. Sriramachandra Murthy convener Sri Sathya Sai Seva Samithi, Anantapur stated that this bhajan workshop as part of preparing for Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba’s ensuing 90th birthday and SSSS Orgaisation’s 50th anniversary celebrations, as per the directions given by the state organization.

Next speaker was Dr. R. Venugopal Setty who spoke on the importance of nama smarana and its importance in the kaliyuga. Later Sri M.S.N. Sastri, cultural activities sub committee dist. in-charge gave a detailed power point presentation on bhajan workshop. He defined what a bhajan is, its characteristics and the spiritual benefit of bhajans. CDs containing large collection of bhajans were distributed.

Smt Sai Kumar who is selected to give training on bhajan singing, gave an elaborated power point presentation on sruthi, ragam, talam and diction. She gave practical demonstration with harmonium. She corrected the bhajans sung by singers and gave suggestions on improvements.

Dr. T. Ramanjappa, district president, SSSSO, Anantapur, Sri S. Lingaiah, mandir bahjans incharge, Sri D.S Venkateswara Rao, member, cultural activities sub committee and other devotees attended the bhajan workshop.
