Tributes to B V Ramana Rao

Tributes paid to an Exemplary dedicated officer (retired) and an ardent devotee of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba- Sri BV Ramana Rao 

Sri B V Ramana Rao, 91, former Chief Drugs Controller, Government of Andhra Pradesh passed away at Hyderabad, yesterday. The last rites of BV Ramana rao were performed today at Hyderabad.Hundreds of people from various walks of life have paid their last tributes to Sri Ramana Rao.

Sri Ramana rao was highly respected for his sincerity, honesty and dynamism in the Pharma Industry. He was instrumental in bringing various reforms during his tenure.

Sri Ramana Rao was born on 01.10.1926 in Amalapuram, East Godavari District, AP state.  In 1983 he retired as the Drugs Controller, Govt of Andhra Pradesh. He had first darshan of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba in the year 1966 and became a staunch devotee and an exemplary Sai Sevak (volunteer) under the Divine Guidance. 

Sri Ramana rao has worked day and night tirelessly and ceaselessly in carrying out various service activities to the poor and needy across the country under the guidance of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba way back from 1966. For him, even a small work was also a big Seva. He used to address everyone with ‘Sir’, irrespective of the age.

Sri Sathya Sai Baba has entrusted him with many responsible positions like All Indian Seva Dal (service wing) Coordinator, the State President of Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisations, Andhra Pradesh etc.

Sri Ramana Rao has personally coordinated various service activities to the poor and needy under the direct guidance of Sri Sathya Sai Baba throughout India. He has put in herculean efforts in giving relief to thousands of victims of the worst affected 1stever super cyclone in theKrishna River delta region, ”Diviseema” , in the year 1977 which was hit by a six metre high storm surge, experienced a loss of life running into the thousands. 

He also personally coordinated the relief operations under the guidance of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba in providing 78 lorries load of food material to the 2001Gujarat earthquake, also known as the Bhujearthquake.

These are only a fraction of the service activities coordinated by Sri Ramana Rao.

A multi-talented personality, Sri Ramana Rao has authored stories for Yuva, Andhra Jyothi, Adhra Prabha, Vanitha, Andhra Bhoomi, Andhra Patrka, Telugu Swtantra etc.,

He also authored many books on spirituality like, Prema Bandham, Premamrutham, Pratyaksha Paramatma, Divya Jnana Deepikalu, Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Vani, Love is My Form, Nectar of Love, God as Guide and Goal, Beacons of Divine Wisdom etc.

He became the Editor of the Telugu Sanathana Sarathi (magazine of Sri Sathya Sai Seva organization) in the year 2011 and continued to serve with devotion and dedication till his last breath.

He will be missed dearly by the entire Sri Sathya Sai fraternity and his services to His Divine Mission will be remembered forever and will continue to inspire devotees for ages to come. He has been an inspiration to thousands of our Seva Dal Members not only in Andhra Pradesh but also to everyone who attended various Sevas in Prashanthi Nilayam and Trayee Vrundavan ashrams. Always in a simple dress, he was a torch bearer - guiding and motivating many Sevaks and devotees. Sri Ramana rao is survived by 2 sons.

They recalled the meticulous training imparted by Ramana Rao to thousands of sri Sathya Sai sevadal (volunteers) for over 50 years.
