Veda poshana workshop at Anantapur

By the Divine Blessings and Grace of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, the SSSS Samithi, Anantapur organised a workshop “Veda poshana” on 18th June 2017. The workshop was conducted at Sri Sathya Sai Kalyana Mandapam, Anantapur.

The workshop started at 9.00 a.m. with bhajans. The workshop was inaugurated with Deepa Prajwalana by Dr. N. Anjanaiah garu, All India Spiritual Wing Coordinator and other dignitaries. Dr. T. Ramanjappa, Dist. President SSSSO, Anantapur, explained how this “Sri Sathya Sai Veda Poshana Workshop” was contemplated and took shape in a short period. In the inaugural address, Sri Phaneendra Varanasi, State Coordinator-Vedam, SSSSO, A.P & TS, expressed his pleasure in conducting this workshop in Anantapur district and stressed the need to take-up Veda chanting seriously. He dispelled many misconceptions regarding, Veda chanting and said Vedam is not a religion but a standard way of living.

Later Prof. Siva Sanakara Sai, Dean – Sciences, Sri Sathya Sai Institute Of Higher Learning, Prasanthi Nilayam, elaborated on requirement and significance of Veda chanting as explained by Swamy Himself by playing Swamy’s audio clippings which were well received by the participants. Sri D V Chandrasekhar, Senior Manager (Radiology), SSSIHMS, Whitefield, Bengaluru, discussed elaborately the intricacies of chanting Vedas, through power point presentation.

Later evaluation of trainees session was led by Sri G R Praveena, Faculty, Sri Sathya Sai Higher Secondary School, Prasanthi Nilayam, and other devotees. Faculty members from Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning, Women’s campus, Anantapur, Dr.Deepa Sitharaman and Dr. Prapulla evaluated the mahila Veda chanters.

Sri K V R K Bhargav, Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning, and Sri Ganesh, Radio Sai, Prasanthi Nilayam took active part from the beginning of the program.

Quiz and dumb charades competition on Vedam for all the participants in the afternoon was well received by all.

At the instance of Dr. N. Anjanaiah garu, the Japanese devotees recited Rudram, much to the surprise of all.

Dr Ramachandra Murthy, Convener of Anantapur Samithi, Sri Chinnappa, Dist Vedam coordinator, and other office bearers participated. About 45 Veda chanting gurus and 165 Veda chanting aspirants participated. 20 Sevadal took part in the seva. In all 250 devotees participated.

The workshop ended with mangala harathi to Swamy.
